Often
when we think of gardening we overlook the small plants,
but they can often be the plants that make the whole garden
look a showpiece. Cupheas are small border plants, which
really highlight gardens, hedges and rockeries and are
used by many professional landscapers for stunning garden
effects.
Cupheas or coopheas as some pronounce them,
are a quick growing and hardy small shrub. They grow to
about 30cm high and are low maintenance. These plants
have multitudes of petite flowers ranging in colour from
pink, purple or white.
POSITION
Cupheas will take full sun or part shade. Cupheas are
ideal as borders in front of hedges or used in rockery
gardens.
SOIL PREPARATION
Prepare gardens with Searles® Real Organic Compost and
water well. Once established, you can reduce watering
to weekly.
FERTILISING
When fertilising, apply fortnightly with Searles Flourish®
Soluble Plant Food. This will maintain healthy plant growth
and keep a fuller looking plant which is essential for
their use.
PRUNING
Cupheas can be pruned regularly to keep them looking nice
and compact. In fact, with regular clipping, they retain
a lovely full shape. |
