Searles Spredmax
Spreader Wetting Agent

A NON-IONIC WETTER FOR USE WITH PESTICIDE, FUNGICIDE AND HERBICIDE SPRAYS IN THE HOME GARDEN

Searles Spredmax® is a concentrated spreader wetting agent used to maximise spray application, wetting and sticking and to improve the overall effectiveness of application.

Searles Spredmax® is ideal for adding to prepared solutions of fungicides, pesticides and herbicides. It may also be used to improve foliar applications of soluble and liquid fertilisers.

Searles Spredmax® helps improve the spray solution ability to stick to leaves, which is important for plants with waxy leaves, or those that are hard to wet. This is particularly important for grasses and weeds. Most herbicides kill weeds via direct leaf contact and Searles Spredmax® maxmises spray contact by preventing spray droplets from beading on the leaf surface, increasing droplet contact area thus improving spray efficiency and saving cost.

370g/L NONYL PHENOL ETHYLENE OXIDE CONDENSATE

• 200ml Bottle can be added to up to 1000L of pre-mixed chemical.
• Contains measuring cap for convenient measuring.

Where possible apply granules directly to the nest. Use the low rate for maintenance treatments or to control light infestations. Searles® Dead Grub for Lawns is a cost-effective broad-spectrum insecticide that is used to control lawn armyworm, African black beetle and a variety of other grubs & beetles in lawn and garden situations. Lawn grubs, grass caterpillars and the larvae of lawn beetles can cause devastating problems in the lawn by eating both the grass and grass roots. The damage can very quickly be noticed by patches of grass or lawn suddenly dying. The dead grass is easily lifted off the soil in clumps as the roots have been severed.

Lawn armyworm attacks leaves, stems and seedheads. Their name relates to the fact that they quite often occur in large proportions and quickly devour the grass before moving on to new grass areas.

Most lawn grub activity occurs in late spring through summer to autumn. Adult lawn beetles become active in spring, which is when they start mating and laying eggs.

NOTE: Always be sure to read the full label and follow all directions.

This provides an ideal situation for the kikuyu seed to germinate and flourish. The annual ryegrass will dye out after the first year leaving a thick and luscious kikuyu lawn.

DIRECTIONS FOR SOWING
• May be sown all year round. Germination may be affected by cold or hot days.
• Prepare soil by cultivating to a depth of 6-8mm.
• Break down clods; remove large rocks, sticks and weeds.
• Even soil until level, filling in hollows and flattening lumps.
• Ensure soil pH is correct. Soil pH should be between 6-7. If acidic add lime.
• Apply Searles Penetraide Rewetting granules to promote moisture penetration for better and stronger growth.
• Spread seed in 2 directions. Half in North-South direction. Half in East-West direction. Ideally, use a seed sower for better results. Ensure sowing is even and not in patches.
• Water with a fine spray and maintain soil moistness until grass has established to approximate 8-10cm. Do not over or under water, as this will effect germination.
• Ensure area is free from traffic.
• For long term healthy growth, fertilise through growing season with Searles Robust Lawn Booster controlled release fertilser.

MAINTENANCE & HINTS
• If uneven establishment occurs, cultivate bare patches and apply more lawn seed.
• Regular applications of Searles Robust Lawn Booster will ensure a healthy lawn.
• First mowing should be done at 10cm average grass height. Do not remove more than 1/3 of grass height at any one time. Grass should not be shorter than 4cm deep.
• By applying Searles Penetraide Rewetting granules, you will save money by using less water and provide better growth. Apply every 4-6months.

GERMINATION
Germination and lawn performance will vary due to many factors. All Searles lawn seeds are tested to an industry standard of minimum germination rate of 85%. Environmental factors such as climate and weather, soil types and general application and fertilising processes may vary its performance.

• Hulled for faster germination.

• Available size: 400g.

Couch grass is an aggressive grower, particularly in the warmer months, which rapidly colonises bare ground to form a dense mat of fine pointed leaves. Couch grass is used for soil stabilisation and erosion control, and is one of the best and hardiest turf species. It becomes dormant during the colder months and may be frosted at low temperatures.

Couch grass is able to tolerate both humid sub-tropical conditions and semi arid conditions. This makes couch an ideal grass seed for lawn establishment. Couch is very hardy and is able to take household traffic. It is also very effective as erosion control or slope stability.

Couch actively grows in warmer months but becomes dormant in cooler months. Couch may be frosted at very low temperatures. Re-growth in spring is rapid. Couch is a fine seed and must be spread carefully and may take up to two weeks to germinate. It is recommended to sow Quick Couch seeds during the warmer months from spring through summer and not during winter.
